The County Library of Dalarna

The County Library of Dalarna co-operates with and supports the public libraries in order to provide the inhabitants of Dalarna with efficient and equal access to information and literature. Priority groups are children and young people, disabled people, immigrants and people living in back country. The County Library is an adviser in library questions and development, initiates and supports projects for reading promotion and arranges further education for library staff. The County Library also promotes and makes the regional literature accessible by digitalizing the bibliography of Dalarna and recording local literature for the Talking Book Program. The County Library is an integrated part of the Swedish library system and is regulated by the Library Act of 1997. The County Library is financed by the respective County Council of Dalarna and by the Swedish government and is part of the national library network.
